EXPLORE / FENER / BALAT / GOLDEN HORN
A slower walk
by the Golden Horn.
A route through residential streets, layered communities and remarkable buildings—not a photoshoot through someone else’s neighbourhood.
A CLOSER LOOK
Look closely. Walk respectfully.
Fener and Balat hold traces of different periods of Istanbul’s religious and community history. Churches, schools, neighbourhood shops and steep streets exist within a living residential area.
We favour an informed, respectful walking route that explains the setting while respecting private homes and local businesses. This is about understanding the neighbourhood rather than treating it as a film set.

BEFORE YOU ASK
A few questions, answered
Is this mainly a photography tour? +
No. Photography can be part of the day, but the focus is neighbourhood context, history and everyday life.
Can we combine Balat with the Old City? +
Possibly, with a longer day and sensible timing. We would discuss transport between areas.
